Makes 6 Servings
Ingredients:
1/2 pound lean ground beef
1 1/2 cups onion, chopped
1 clove garlic
2 cups lentils, cooked
2 (14.5 ounce) cans diced tomatoes
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin, ground
Directions:
- In a large saucepan, brown beef over medium-high heat,
breaking it into bite size pieces. Drain fat. - Add onion and garlic and cook until softened.
- Add lentils, tomatoes, chili powder and cumin. Cook for
about 1 hour until flavors are blended. - Serve hot, topped with your favorite chili toppings.
Tip: Celery, peppers or carrots could be added to this recipe.
