Raising the Bar in the Movement to End Hunger
Hops & Vines for Hunger is a statewide fundraising campaign presented by Feeding Pennsylvania and PA Eats, generously sponsored by PSECU and supported by partnerships with breweries and wineries across the state to make a positive impact in the movement to end hunger in Pennsylvania.
This fundraising campaign unites Pennsylvania brewing and winemaking communities in hosting different fundraisers at dozens of locations throughout the state during the entire month of November. Funds raised through this campaign will help PA food banks provide our neighbors with the food, grocery items and nutrition education resources they need to thrive.
Crafting Conversations about Hunger in Pennsylvania
Food insecurity impacts communities in every county and congressional district in Pennsylvania. Over 1.5 million Pennsylvanians, including 436,000 children, face hunger. We refer to people facing hunger in Pennsylvania as “neighbors,” because that’s exactly who they are: our neighbors. Food insecurity is a systemic issue that can happen to anyone, not a personal failure. Our neighbors facing hunger struggle with high living costs, expensive housing, unemployment, chronic health conditions, lack of access to healthy foods, and low-wage jobs.
Hops & Vines for Hunger creates an opportunity for Pennsylvania businesses to not only fundraise for their communities, but also to encourage conversations with patrons about how they can help support their neighbors.
