Blog PA Agriculture Spotlight: Triple B Farms March 25, 2025 For nearly 40 years, Triple B Farms in Monongahela (Allegheny County) has been growing fresh fruits and vegetables, in addition to operating an on-site market. The farm operates following regenerative agriculture principles, integrated pest management, and other sustainable agriculture practices because Sue and Bill Beinlich believe preserving natural resources and supporting farmland helps produce the most delicious and healthy produce available. Triple B Farms and the Beinlich family enjoy sharing their bountiful harvest with members of their community, including through food bank partners in the charitable food system. Bill Beinlich reflected upon his experience, “We’ve been working with food banks, including Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and Food Helpers (Washington County), for nearly 15 years. We appreciate how our food bank partners utilize their PASS (Pennsylvania Agricultural Surplus System) and LFPA (USDA Local Food Purchase Assistance program) funds with Triple B Farms to distribute our fresh fruits and vegetables throughout southwest Pennsylvania. Not only does this support our business, but it helps the farm move any potential surplus production that may have gone unused and allows us to share our harvest with everyone.” “We have been working with Triple B Farms for the last two years. I have nothing but great things to say about our experience,” shared Jerry Dobroski, Warehouse Manager at Food Helpers. “From start to finish Sue and Bill have been wonderful to deal with. We and the families of Washington County have been more than pleased with the quality and quantity of each and every produce box from Triple B Farms. They have been a great asset in helping us with our mission to feed families in Washington County. I look forward in continuing doing business with Triple B Farms with our PASS and LFPA funding.” “Triple B’s decade plus partnership with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank demonstrates just how dedicated Sue and Bill are to supporting our mission and the work we do,” reflected Jane Olszewski, Manager of Procurement and Planning with Greater Pittsburgh. “Being able to rely on them season after season is invaluable in helping us get more fresh produce to more of our neighbors. By delivering directly to the Food Bank from the farm, the team at Triple B ensures that the tomatoes and corn we distribute are as fresh as possible.” Bill and his family look forward to continuing their work with the charitable food system. “I’d encourage other farms, producers, and food companies to get involved with their local food banks. It’s a wonderful opportunity for your business to support surrounding communities in your area and receive a fair price for your products,” said Bill. “As growers, we work hard and take pride in producing fresh and nutritious food, and these programs help our business while allowing neighbors in our community enjoy our products. We look forward to continuing our relationship with both Food Helpers and Greater Pittsburgh.” Visit the Triple B Farms website and follow them on social media: Link Facebook Instagram Photos courtesy of Triple B Farms For more information on how to get involved, contact Tom Mainzer, Director of Agricultural Partnerships, at tm******@*******pa.org or call 717-257-9850.
